Allen High School survives fall

Allen High School senior, Blake Lee was preparing for his final Theatre Awards Banquet on Friday May 25 at the Lowery Freshman Center.


Just before the program was to begin, Blake went up the to catwalk to secure some of the event decorations.

Blake fell through the ceiling about 20 feet landing on the stage.

He got up and walked off the stage then sat down. Paramedics were called in and he was taken to Allen Presyterian Hospital. Blake sustained numerous injuries including a fractured pelvis, fractured wrist and lung .

Blake wanted to stay and finish the show since he was the host and as expected to receive several awards himself.

Blake plans to cross the graduation stage with his classmates on Wedneday, but it will be in a wheelchair. Blake will be attending University of Oklahoma in the Fall.
