Early voting results released

Early voting results for the Little Elm Town Council General Election were just released by the Denton County Elections. With polls closing at 7 p.m. today, the final results have not been released yet.
For the position of Mayor, candidate David Hillock is in the lead with 42 percent of the votes (244 ballots). Close behind him is incumbent Charles Platt with 41 percent of the ballots (235). John Gowling received 17 percent of the returns (99).
For the position of District 3 on the council, incumbent Curtis Cornelius takes the lead with 51 percent of the ballots (162). Opponent Jason Olson received 40 percent of the returns (128) and Dickie Mills received 9 percent (27).
Six candidates have vied for position of District 5. In the early voting results, Dan Jaworski has the lead with 35 percent of the returns (40). Behind him are Katie Gipson with 32 percent of the votes (37) and DeLeon English with 22 percent (25). LeAnna Harding received 7 percent of the ballots (8), David Taylor with 3 percent (4) and Renn Leech with 1 percent (1).
Final results for the election will be released at a later time.
