The Hilton Hotel will be the site of Baylor Grapevine's Women's Health Day on Saturday, Jan. 28.

The popular event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Hilton Southlake in Southlake Town Square from 7-11 a.m. The event is free but participants must register by calling 1-800-4BAYLOR or visiting BaylorHealth.com/GrapevineForWomen.

"It's the biggest event of the year and we're very excited about it," said Dee Dee Ogrin, director of marketing for Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. "It's an event that really provides some good information for women on breast cancer, blood pressure, lung function and other health topics related to women."

With the demands of family, friends and work, Orgin said that it is sometimes easy for women to let their own health care needs take a backseat.

Ogrin added that there will also be free screenings for bone density and body fat.

"It's really become a fun event the last few years because many women will compare the numbers from their bone density scan and their body fat scan from the previous year to this year's scan," Ogrin said. "That way they can keep track of how they are doing in those areas."

Ogrin said that, while the seminar won't take the place of an actual exam at a doctor's office, it can help women with questions that they may have regarding issues that are common to women everywhere.

"There will be panel discussions with a wide range of physicians who will be able to answer questions that women have on a number of different topics including cholesterol, high blood pressure and weight loss," she said.

There will also be physicians there who will talk about weight loss surgery, Ogrin said.

"We perform a lot of weight loss surgeries at the hospital and many women are exploring the possibility of having weight loss surgery done," she said. "We'll have physicians at the seminar who will answer any questions that women have about it."

Attendees can learn the facts about heart disease, obstetrics and gynecological issues, how to maintain a healthy diet and much more.

Last year, more than 400 women attended the event, Ogrin said.

"Hopefully, we'll see close to 500 women at this year's seminar," she said. "Every year, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger."
