This why cities not only need be applauded for past efforts but reminded that food is needed now more than ever.

State legislatures were also honored for their recent votes that helped to get HB1622 also called the “Children’s Access to Nutritious Food Program Act.” According to a press release from the food bank the bill would grant funds to nonprofit organizations such as Texas regional food banks to provide children at risk of hunger or obesity access to nutritious food outside of the school day. The lunch also served as a time for TAFB to meet the elected officials in the cities and make them aware of all the programs they have and how they can be helpful in their cities.
